BUILD-TO-PRINT / PROCESS CAPABILITIES
XSD Harness provides build-to-print manufacturing for custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies, with in-house capabilities covering wire preparation, terminal processing, connector assembly, soldering, molding, harness assembly and inspection. Manufacturing processes are selected according to customer drawings, BOMs, electrical specifications and approved quality requirements.
XSD Harness is the specialized wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing business of Dongguan XSD Cable Technology Co., Ltd.
Approved drawing + BOM + inspection requirements
THE MANUFACTURING ROUTE
Custom wire harness production involves more than connecting wires and terminals. Each project may require different wire preparation, termination, protection, routing, labeling and inspection processes. XSD selects the manufacturing route according to the approved drawing, BOM, component specification and application requirements.
Illustrative production route, not a mandatory sequence for every product. Soldering, molding and individual tests are included only when required by the approved assembly.
XSD Harness uses automatic wire cutting and terminal crimping equipment in custom wire harness production.
WIRE PREPARATION
Wire preparation establishes the dimensional foundation for the finished harness. Depending on the approved specification, wires are cut to defined lengths and prepared for the required terminal, connector, splice or soldering operation.
Automatic wire cutting equipment and tube cutters support the preparation stage. Cutting and stripping settings are reviewed with the conductor, insulation and downstream connection requirements rather than treated as a single setting for every wire.
XSD uses automatic wire cutting equipment as part of its custom wire harness production process.
TERMINATION
Terminal crimping is a critical connection process in wire harness manufacturing. XSD uses automatic and semi-automatic terminal processing equipment depending on wire size, terminal geometry, production volume and project requirements.
Automatic equipment supports the selected production route; semi-automatic processing provides an alternative for assemblies and terminals requiring a different setup. A copper strip terminal machine is also documented for selected terminal connections.
CONNECTOR INTEGRATION
After wire termination, terminals and components are assembled into the specified connector housings according to the approved circuit configuration. Depending on product complexity, connector assembly may combine automated processing with skilled manual operations.
The company profile lists a terminal insertion machine. Equipment selection and manual assembly instructions are reviewed against the actual connector, circuit arrangement and approved component specification.
SELECTED INTERFACES
Some cable assemblies require soldered, communication or specialized connector interfaces rather than conventional terminal crimping alone. XSD’s documented equipment includes RJ45 crimping and HDMI high-frequency soldering equipment, supporting selected electronic and signal cable assembly requirements.
Connection methods and inspection criteria are selected for the approved components and assembly design. Particular data bandwidths or signal-integrity performance are not assumed from the presence of processing equipment.
MOLDED CONNECTIONS
Depending on the product design, molding can be integrated into the wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing process to provide mechanical support, insulation, strain relief, component integration or environmental protection.
Environmental performance depends on the approved design, materials and validation requirements.
Waterproofing, IP67 / IP68, chemical resistance and specified flame ratings are not automatic outcomes of molding. Any required rating must be supported by the finished product design and validation.
ROUTING & INTEGRATION
Harness assembly combines prepared wires, terminals, connectors and protective components into the customer-approved electrical architecture. Simple assemblies may contain only a few circuits, while complex harnesses may incorporate multiple branches, different wire gauges, connectors, sleeves, labels and mounting components.
Harness routing, branch lengths and connector locations are checked against the drawing. Fixture-assisted assembly may be used when the approved configuration requires a controlled layout; the assembly method depends on complexity and production needs.
FINISHING THE ASSEMBLY
Secondary processing brings the assembly into its specified installation configuration. Protective components, wire identification and mounting details are selected to suit the approved routing and application environment.
Twisting is treated as a selected sub-capability, not a universal step. Braiding and shield preparation are not presented as confirmed in-house capabilities without equipment and process evidence.
A finished harness example illustrates branch protection and connector integration; it is not a substitute for a project-specific drawing or test report.
INSPECTION RESOURCES
The company’s documented inspection resources include wire sequence testing, DC resistance testing, terminal cross-section analysis and tensile testing. Electrical, visual, dimensional, mechanical and durability checks are selected to match the product and customer requirements.
Circuit relationships and electrical resistance where required.
Crimp geometry, connection strength and specified mating forces.
Bending and salt spray testing to an agreed method and acceptance criteria.
Confirm circuit relationships according to the inspection specification.
Evaluate electrical resistance where required by the approved test criteria.
Perform electrical inspection according to project requirements.
Use image-based inspection for specified component or assembly features.
Review crimp geometry where applicable against the approved terminal specification.
Review dimensional features against the inspection specification.
Evaluate mechanical connection strength using the specified test method.
Evaluate repeated bending behavior where a defined durability test is required.
Assess selected components or assemblies under the specified salt spray conditions.
Evaluate connector mating and unmating performance where specified.
Additional electrical or compliance testing requirements can be reviewed and arranged according to an agreed customer test plan. Hi-pot, aging, flame and RoHS-related systems are not claimed as confirmed in-house equipment on this page.
The equipment images reproduce the resources listed in the 2026 company profile. Equipment availability does not imply a universal pass limit or certification for every finished assembly.
FROM REQUIREMENTS TO RELEASE
XSD receives the customer’s approved electrical design, prepares and terminates the wires, integrates connectors and protective components, assembles the harness using appropriate production processes, and verifies the finished assembly using documented inspection resources.
Confirm drawings, BOM, components, dimensions, environment, quantities and inspection criteria.
Select wire preparation, termination, assembly, molding / protection and the inspection method.
Review initial assemblies against the agreed specification before batch release where required.
Carry out the approved manufacturing operations with checks defined for the project.
Review the finished assembly against the agreed acceptance and packaging requirements.
This is a general workflow, not a fixed lead-time commitment or a claim that every assembly requires every operation.
